BART reports major delays during Friday evening commute

BART is experiencing a major delay Friday evening due to an equipment problem on the tracks inside the Transbay Tube.

The incident has caused trains to single tracking through the tube, BART officials said at 6:15 p.m.

The delay is stemming from a blown insulator on the track in the tube, BART spokesperson Chris Filippi said.

A response crew has responded to inspect the track and is expected to make repairs shortly, according to Filippi.
