The U.S. Coast Guard launched a search Monday morning after an adrift kayak was discovered off Hunters Point, authorities said.

A boat crew and a helicopter crew were dispatched from San Francisco around 9 a.m. when the kayak was found with a life jacket and paddles in it, but no kayaker, the Alameda office of the U.S. Coast Guard said.

The search is currently underway and no further details could be released at this time.Coast GuardHunter's PointKayakSan Francisco
