Plundering posses robs, assaults bicyclist

A bicyclist was assaulted and robbed in the mid-Market Street area early Monday morning, police said.

The 24-year-old victim was riding his bike in the unit block of Sixth Street at 1:50 a.m. when he was attacked by three men and one woman, all in their 20s, police said.

One of the suspects grabbed the victim’s bike and began beating him up, police said. Another suspect hit the victim with a baseball bat. The thugs took the victim’s cellphone and fled.

The victim was taken to a hospital for his injuries, which were not life-threatening.
