Soon your trips to and from SFO may contain a new ritual: stopping at Dunkin’ Donuts. The popular East Coast donut chain will be debuting its latest California location at 5 a.m. on Feb. 1 at 180 S. Airport Blvd.

Dunkin’ Donuts began expanding their operations to California in 2014, to much fanfare. This location will be the fourth to open in the Bay Area and the closest to San Francisco, with stores already in Walnut Creek, Half Moon Bay and American Canyon.

“We’ve been overwhelmed by the enthusiastic reception for Dunkin’ Donuts at our Half Moon Bay restaurant and are thrilled to offer Bay Area residents another great location in South San Francisco,” said Vishal Shah, California Donut Kings partner. “Conveniently located off U.S. Highway 101 near San Francisco International Airport, we look forward to serving locals, commuters and SFO travelers alike.”

Dunkin’ Donuts sells more than 1.9 billion cups of coffee and 2.8 billion donuts each year from its 12,000 locations worldwide.

The new store will employ 30 people when it opens Feb. 1, and will operate from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Grand opening festivities will include samples, giveaways to the first 100 people in line, a $250 gift card to the first person in line and an appearance by Dunkin’ Donuts mascot Cuppy.
