Mayor Ed Lee is 'under the weather,' cancels events

Mayor Ed Lee canceled public events Thursday because, according to his spokeswoman Christine Falvey, he was “feeling under the weather.”

As of 3 p.m., Lee remained at City Hall, conducting budget-related meetings in his office, according to Falvey. She said the mayor is expected to return to City Hall tomorrow for more meetings, but will not participate in any public events. Falvey didn’t know when he would be leaving City Hall today but said it would probably earlier than usual.

After participating in a Thursday morning online budget meeting with Supervisor Mark Farrell, the mayor was noticeably absent from an 11:30 a.m. meeting at City Hall’s South Light Court for the kickoff of May as Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. Lee has canceled the 5:30 p.m. event later today to welcome Governor General of Canada David Johnston with a Key to The City at the Mark Hopkins Hotel.
