Starting center Zaza Pachulia played his worst game of the season on Tuesday. He had more turnovers than points, three fouls and scraped up his shin by kicking a chair on the bench as he exited the game.
Looking to improve on that performance, Pachulia added some extra incentive by making a bet with the Warriors strength and conditioning coach, Kurtis Rayfield. Pachulia’s mission? Getting a points-rebounds double-double and a dunk.
He received a pocket pass in an open lane for an easy one-handed slam less than a minute into the game, and finished with precisely 10 points and 10 rebounds.
“Kurtis has to shave his beard for tomorrow’s team picture,” a delighted Kerr shared after the game.
Pachulia took a social-media victory lap:
Before/After. It all happened last night. Respect Kurtis Rayfield for honoring the bet. pic.twitter.com/mn498DsTZL
