Woman stabbed during argument in SoMa

A 53-year-old black woman was stabbed multiple times in the chest and face Thursday afternoon during an argument with a 64-year-old man on 6th Street, according to police.

The South of Market stabbing happened around 3:30 p.m. on 6th Street between Market and Mission streets.

The pair were having an argument when the suspect allegedly began stabbing the victim before he ran from the scene.

The victim, who was wounded on the face and hands as well as her chest, was taken to San Francisco General Hospital for her none-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect was later found by police in a community room of the building were the stabbing occurred and arrested.

He remains in custody and was booked on attempted murder charges, among others.
