A woman sustained life-threatening injuries during a robbery in Telegraph Hill earlier this month, according to police
The 31-year-old woman told police she was walking to her car near Broadway and Montgomery Street on Nov. 11 around 3 a.m. when she was approached by two women she didn’t know, who tried to grab the backpack she was wearing.
“She fell to the ground, and that’s when two other (women) suspects approached her, and all four suspects assaulted her,” said Officer Robert Rueca, a San Francisco Police Department spokesperson.
The victim was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and has been recovering, he said. There was no report of any weapons being used.
The victim waited until Dec. 4 to report the crime. Rueca didn’t know the cause of the delay, but said police will conduct an investigation.
“In every investigation we always scour for witnesses, surveillance video, anything of that sort that might have documented the incident that gives us a clear picture of what actually occurred,” he said.
