VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY at the University of California, San Francisco!

Our research team at the UCSF Late Life Depression Program has begun recruiting participants for an important new study at the University of California, San Francisco Parnassus campus and SF VA Medical Center.  The Psychotherapy Outcomes Study is funded by the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) and is investigating how symptoms of depression impact brain health in older adults.

If you are eligible, our team will guide you through an MRI scan, take blood samples, and administer a series of cognitive assessments. Participants will then be eligible for 12-weeks of psychotherapy treatment or antidepressant treatment at no cost to you.

Qualifying volunteers will receive up to $265 in financial compensation for their participation.

Participants may be eligible if they are:

  • Currently experiencing symptoms of depression
  • No antidepressant or psychotherapy treatment within the past 4 weeks
  • Aged 65 or older, and in good general health
  • English speaking
  • Willing to participate in cognitive assessments
  • Willing to undergo two MRI scans
  • Willing to provide two blood draws

If you would like more information about our study please give us a call at

Thank you for your time, and I am looking forward to speaking with you!

Sincerely,
