Violent holiday weekend in SF leaves four men injured

Three shootings and a stabbing in the Mission, Bayview Hunters Point and the Fillmore over Labor Day weekend left four men injured, according to San Francisco police.

The first incident occurred around 8:50 p.m. Friday night when a 26-year-old African American man was shot with a handgun as he sat in a parked car in the Fillmore District, according to police.

The victim was in a parking lot near Fulton and Buchanan streets when someone rode up on a bike and opened fire, grazing the man. The shooter fled after the victim escaped in his car.

The victim was treated for his wounds at a nearby hospital.

Later that night in the Bayview, a 50-year-old African American man was seriously injured after being shot twice in the back on Nichols Way near Candlestick Point.

The victim had allegedly been in a fight with the assailant before the 9:04 p.m. shooting.

Sunday morning, a 24-year-old African American was shot in the leg as he got off a Muni bus in Hunter’s Point, according to police.

The victim was exiting a 44 Muni near Ingalls and Hudson streets when he heard gunshots. Then he realized he’d been shot in both legs.

He was taken to a nearby hospital and treated. He is in stable condition.

Later that morning, at 3:45 a.m., a 22-year-old Latino man was stabbed after five suspects on bikes told him to hand over his things.

As the man walked down 17th street at Shotwell street, the the group approached him and demanded he hand over his things. When he refused a scuffle broke out and he was stabbed in the abdomen.

The Mission District incident left the man stable after he was taken to the hospital for treatment.
