Due to rain in the forecast for Tuesday, the scheduled University of San Francisco Dons baseball game at San Jose State has been moved.

The Dons (5-5) split a Friday doubleheader against Kansas State in Texas and then lost to the Wildcats on Saturday, and were set for one more road game against the Spartans before coming home to host Rider University and UC Riverside.

The game was originally scheduled for a 5:30 p.m. start Tuesday at San Jose State’s Municipal Stadium — home to the San Francisco Giants’ A-Advanced affiliate San Jose Giants — but will now take place at Benedetti Diamond at 2 p.m., and will be a non-ticketed event, free and open to the public.

Part of the consideration for the move was the fact that Municipal Stadium has a natural field, while Benedetti has an all-weather artificial surface.

Tuesday will kick off what was to be a four-game weekend on the Hilltop, starting USF’s homestand one game early. The Dons will now play eight of their next nine games at home.
