Etc. Magazine, produced by the CCSF journalism department, placed second in the Best Student Magazine category of a national competition sponsored by the Society of Professional Journalists.

A Nob Hill post office is closed after several workers were sent to the hospital with symptoms that could be related to a hazardous materials situation.Fire spokeswoman Mindy Talmadge said five employees working at the post office on the 1400 block of Pine Street were told by their supervisor to go to St. Francis Hospital this morning after experiencing “itchiness” over a period of a couple of days. The San Francisco Medical Examiner’s office identified the 25-year-old man who died in a car crash Tuesday night as Yongze Wei, a San Francisco resident.
According to police, Wei was driving along Sunset and Lake Merced boulevards at about 10 p.m. when his car hit a curb; he was ejected from his car and pinned by the vehicle, police said.Wei was removed by fire crews and eventually pronounced dead at San Francisco General Hospital.Medical authorities waited to release Wei’s name because his family was out of the country and had not been notified.

Crews have finished cleaning up the Golden Gate Bridge, but expect delays through the evening commute. As of 1:30 p.m., two lanes were open to southbound drivers from the north end of the bridge to Anchorage, where the new paving ends.
