Memorabilia unveiled for FanFest

Hunt Auctions unveiled a portion of its memorabilia collection to members of the media Thursday at AT&T Park, as a preview of the historic Major League Baseball items that will be auctioned off July 10 as part of the FanFest at the Moscone Center during All-Star week.Among more than 200 collectibles that will be auctioned off is a signed Willie Mays Giants jersey from 1958, the first year the club played in San Francisco. Dons find right tonic for win

Of the four wins the USF baseball team had previously registered this season against Sacramento State, three have come directly after a Dons loss.Tuesday, the Hornets once again proved to be the cure for what ails USF. Getting a much-needed win before their weekend showdown with 10th-ranked Pepperdine, the Dons belted out 13 hits, had 21 players see action and dominated from the start in an 8-1 win over Sacramento State at Benedetti Diamond. After defeating its two previous opponents by a combined score of 37-2, the Galileo baseball team found itself in an unusual situation Thursday — trailing 2-1 in the top of the third inning against Leadership.That deficit, however, proved to be short-lived as Galileo poured in 16 runs over the final five innings to capture the Boilermaker Invitational 17-3 at Big Rec.Cody Klein went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and Chris Barber added two extra-base hits and five RBIs for Galileo, which won the tournament hosted by O’Connell for its eighth straight victory.
