Another downtown San Francisco office burglarized while busy employees toil away

Cellphone thefts not only run rampant on San Francisco streets, they also can happen right in your work cubicle. An office in downtown San Francisco was reportedly burglarized in the middle of the workday Thursday, the second such heist in a week. About 1:30 p.m., an unidentified man reportedly walked into a fifth-floor office at 27 Maiden Lane, near Kearny and Market streets, while employees were in a meeting. “The man was able to walk around inside of the unlocked office for several minutes before he was spotted,” according to Central Station police. Jealousy fuels baseball bat attack in San Francisco park

A man who was hit with a baseball bat in a Western Addition park on Tuesday was accused of striking out with the assailant’s girlfriend, police said.The attack reportedly occurred at Raymond Kimball Playground near Geary Boulevard and Steiner Street at about 4:45 p.m.The victim had been drinking all day with the couple, police said, even though he had only known the pair for one day.At one point the girlfriend accused the victim of hitting on her. Woman brutally beaten, robbed in liquor store near Powell Station

A 31-year-old woman was viciously robbed inside a liquor store near San Francisco’s Powell Station early Friday, according to police.Just before 2 a.m., two female thugs in their 20s reportedly attacked the victim without warning inside the Superette store at 128 Eddy St., a block west of the transit hub.One of the goons punched her, knocking her to the ground, police said, and then the both punched and kicked her before swiping her cash.Officers were called and two suspects were taken into custody, however, police woudn't release their names at this time. An intoxicated young man who had blocked the path of a Muni bus by standing in front of it during a recent morning commute might have egged a woman minutes earlier. About 6:55 a.m. Monday, police were called about a man preventing a bus’s movement at 33rd Avenue and Clement Street in the Outer Richmond district. Mom, daughter punched on packed Muni bus

A massive man who failed to push his way into a packed Muni bus in the Excelsior district last weekend reportedly punched and strangled a 15-year-old girl and also hit her mother. As of Wednesday, police were still hunting for the pushy thug who launched the shocking attack on the teenager at Mission Street and Onondaga Avenue, about two blocks from Balboa High School. Impatient crook gets frustrated by the holdup during his holdup

Apparently it was the crook who was being held up. A robber threatened to shoot a store clerk in Lower Pacific Heights on Wednesday for being too slow at handing over the cash, police said. The suspect, described as a 45-year-old man, reportedly entered a store in the 1900 block of Fillmore Street about 4:50 p.m. and demanded money from the register. The female clerk “wasn’t working fast enough” for the suspect, police said, so he “put a hard object to her back and told her he would shoot if she did not hurry up.” Read More

A lawsuit has been filed in connection with the warrantless police search of a nonviolent protester’s cellphone in the Castro district last year. Western Addition victim had nothing to offer thieves, but was stabbed anyway

A 38-year-old man reportedly told armed crooks in the Western Addition on Tuesday that he had nothing to give them. But that didn’t stop one of the thugs from stabbing the man in the torso with a small knife on the corner of Laguna and Grove streets at about 7:20 p.m. The suspects fled after the pointless attack empty-handed, police said. Man counting cash beaten, robbed in Tenderloin

A man was beaten into unconsciousness with a handgun after leaving a check cashing business in the Tenderloin on Tuesday night, police said.The 45-year-old victim was reportedly counting his cash while walking near Turk and Jones streets when two goons attacked him at about 7 p.m.One of the suspects grabbed him and held him while the other hit him with a gun until he was unconscious, police said. A Marina district bank was robbed Monday morning, police said. At about 11:30 a.m., police said, a man in his 30s handed a note demanding cash to the teller of the Bank of America at Chestnut and Pierce streets. Man shot to death in Bayview car

A 31-year-old man was shot dead Monday afternoon as he sat in his car in the Bayview district, police said.About 3:30 p.m., police said, officers responded to the 1300 block of Thomas Avenue, about three blocks from Third Street, where they found the man, whose name has yet to be released.He suffered bullet wounds to the head and chest, police said.There have been no arrests. The San Francisco-based Japanese diplomat who abused his wife might have received a lighter jail sentence if he showed even a little remorse, prosecutors said Tuesday.
