Five suspected thugs were arrested shortly after a shooting near a San Francisco high school Sunday night that left a 22-year-old man critically wounded.
The unidentified victim walked into the emergency room of San Francisco General Hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg at about 7:50 p.m., Officer Albie Esparza said. He was rushed to surgery with life-threatening injuries, Esparza said, but as of Monday morning his condition was unknown.

San Francisco police are investigating a homicide after finding a woman stabbed to death inside her home near 16th and Mission streets.
Officers responded to the home in the 2000 block of Mission Street on Friday on a report of a body. The Medical Examiner later found that the 59-year-old Yvonne Barillas had been stabbed.
Police were mum on details in a preliminary report Monday.

A 16-year-old’s tooth was knocked out and his 78-year-old grandmother was robbed of her purse Thursday night after two teenage punks attacked them in the Mission district, police said.
The victims were reportedly walking on the sidewalk in the area of 24th and Capp streets at about 6 p.m. when the juveniles, described only as 16-year-old boys, began beating up the teenager.
While one of the thugs punched the boy “several times in the face and mouth,” the other struck him on the head, police said.

A bullet grazed the face of a driver who was not the intended target of a drive-by shooting near the Lower Haight neighborhood early Friday, police said.
The 32-year-old man was reportedly stopped at a red light on Oak Street at Pierce Street at about 12:22 a.m. when the gunman drove up and opened fire on another vehicle that was also stopped at the light.
A bullet struck the driver who was targeted, a 22-year-old man, in the arm, and another “grazed the face” of the 32-year-old driver who was not involved, Officer Gordon Shyy said.

A drunken man was stabbed after bumping into another man in the Mission District Tuesday night, police said.
The 50-year-old victim was reportedly heavily intoxicated while walking in the 2800 block of Mission Street, near the 24th Street BART station, when he bumped into a 45-year-old man who was wearing a sun hat.
The two men got into an argument, and the victim ended up with a stab wound.
However, the victim “couldn’t recall” what the argument was about when police responded to the scene, police Officer Albie Esparza said.

Police responding to a call about a dog bite in the Bayview district last weekend encountered something even worse: a human.
At 2:12 p.m. Sunday in the area of Underwood Avenue and Keith Street, a 55-year-old woman told cops, the most vicious dog in her neighborhood was actually her son’s friend, Terrell Wilson, 42, of San Francisco.
According to the woman, Wilson had his pit bull attack her after she rejected his sexual advances.
