Two British tourists were reportedly robbed last weekend of their camera, cash, bank cards, driver’s licenses, phones and other items as they were walking just south of Cesar Chavez Street. The female tourists, who said they were in town for only a short time, called police at about 8:45 p.m. Saturday and said they were walking in the 1500 block of York Street when the suspect approached, Ingleside Station police reported Wednesday. Three stabbed after leaving San Francisco nightclub

Three people were stabbed after leaving a San Francisco nightclub early Wednesday, according to police, including a woman who was knifed in the buttocks and then pulled over by the California Highway Patrol on suspicion of DUI. A suspect identified as 28-year-old Lavon Carraway of San Francisco was arrested in connection with the attacks on two of the victims near the Infusion Lounge at Ellis and Cyril Magnin streets. A 16-year-old boy was critically wounded in a drive-by shooting in the Excelsior district Tuesday night, police said. The unidentified victim was near the intersection of Brazil Avenue and Vienna Street at about 8:45 p.m. when a light gray Dodge minivan pulled up. Bags of pot found in Joe's Crab Shack dumpster

Something smelled funky at Joe's Crab Shack this morning - and it wasn't seafood. A large amount of what appears to be marijuana was found in the dumpster at the seafood eatery at Fisherman’s Wharf, police said. Someone at the restaurant at 245 Jefferson St. called police after finding “three big garbage bags, maybe 50 pounds,” filled with marijuana, Central Station police Capt. Garret Tom said. San Francisco DA still trying to put chronic inebriates into treatment instead of jail

Three months after a program targeting San Francisco’s worst drunks was deemed illegal, the District Attorney’s Office is still trying to address the troublesome population.In January, Mayor Ed Lee’s then-four-month-old program known as “chronic inebriate court” was stopped due to a California appeals court ruling. The program had held chronic offenders in contempt of court for ignoring “notice to appear” citations for infractions such as public drunkenness. An 18-year-old woman who was robbed of her cellphone in the mid-Market district Thursday night reportedly offered the thief cash for the return of the device. She then had both her phone and money stolen, police said. The heartless robbery was reported at about 10:15 p.m. in the area of Sixth and Market streets. The teenager said a woman in her 40s who was accompanied by a man in his 20s had asked her to borrow her phone. The victim refused, police said, and so the suspect hit her and took the phone. A man who stabbed his drinking buddy three times in the neck during an argument last Fourth of July over who was “more of a man” was sentenced Thursday to four years in state prison. Roberto Miron Romero, 31, of East Palo Alto, pleaded no contest to felony assault and other charges in connection with the senseless assault at Bell Street Park in his city. On that day, according to prosecutors, Romero, the 20-year-old victim and a friend shared two 12-packs of beer over several hours before the pissing match erupted. Read More

Robert E. Graves, S.F. man, pleads not guilty to fatal shooting over rooftop party dispute

Robert E. Graves, 66, of Nob Hill pleaded not guilty Thursday to fatally shooting 24-year-old neighbor Geoffrey Greer last weekend during an early morning dispute. Graves remains in custody on $3 million bail in connection with the Saturday killing in the 1100 block of Pacific Avenue. He appeared for his arraignment Thursday morning in an orange jail uniform, with wavy, disheveled gray hair and thick, black-rimmed prescription glasses.
