Man assaulted with bottle outside Mission district nightclub

A man was assaulted with a bottle outside a Mission district nightclub early Thursday morning, police said. The 27-year-old was first approached by the two male suspects inside the nightclub in the 3000 block of Mission Street, police Officer Gordon Shyy said. One of the men confronted the victim and words were exchanged, Shyy said. The victim reportedly then walked away. The victim left the nightclub about 1:20 a.m. and was attacked by the two men, Shyy said. One of the suspects hit the victim over the head with a bottle while the other kicked him repeatedly. Bayview flasher just ‘can’t help it’

He just couldn’t help it. Bayview police are investigating the case of a flasher who on Tuesday exposed himself to a woman. The 38-year-old victim was walking in the 2000 block of Jerrold Street when the creep walked across the street toward her, police said. As he approached, he dropped his drawers and exposed himself. He then grabbed himself and said, “I can’t help it,” while walking toward the victim, police said. The woman told the creep she was going to call the police, which prompted him to flee in a white cargo van, police said. Read More

Man mum on back stabbing

A man was stabbed numerous times in the back in a Mission district attack Thursday morning, police said. The 29-year-old victim passed officers who were making a traffic stop in the 2000 block of Mission Street about 3 a.m., police Officer Gordon Shyy said. The officers saw that the man was bleeding, Shyy said. They then realized he had been stabbed several times in the back and called for an ambulance. His injuries reportedly are not life-threatening. But the victim was uncooperative with police and would not provide any information on the attack, Shyy said. Read More

Man busted for drunken driving after doing doughnuts

Three things that don’t mix: Drinking, driving and doughnuts. A Bayview man was arrested Monday after crashing his car while spinning doughnuts in the 1000 block of Fitzgerald Avenue, police said. Officers responded about 9:55 p.m. to reports of a hit-and-run accident where the driver reportedly fled on foot, police said. Cops said they soon found the driver, who appeared distraught and admitted that he had left the scene after crashing the car. A witness positively identified the man as the driver. Read More

With friends like these.A 36-year-old victim ran into a thieving old “friend” — described by police as a 27-year-old woman — on the street and they went to the victim’s hotel room in the 1700 block of Market Street on Wednesday, police Officer Albie Esparza said. The man fell asleep on the bed and when he awoke about 2:30 a.m., he saw his “friend” and another man, about 35 years old, holding knives and demanding his cash, Esparza said. Suspect in $129M fraud surrenders, denies guilt

A Canadian man wanted in connection with the operation of a Ponzi scheme has surrendered to authorities in San Francisco and pleaded not guilty, U.S. Attorney’s Office spokesman Jack Gillund said. William Wise, 62, along with Jacquline Hoegel, 55, of American Canyon, are accused of bilking investors out of more than $129.5 million, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.Hoegel was arrested in February and released on bond. Cops try to flush out potty pyro

Has the Loo Lighter returned? Police say no, but arson investigators are probing the case of a portable toilet that was set ablaze in Noe Valley on Saturday. Ingleside Police Station officers were conducting traffic control for an unrelated incident about 2:53 a.m. when they were flagged down by a concerned citizen who noticed the fire, police said. Cops went to the 200 block of Duncan Street, where they saw the portable toilet, along with a nearby vehicle, on fire. A man was arrested and charged with attempted murder after a fight in the Tenderloin on Friday led to a stabbing that critically injured another man, police Officer Albie Esparza said Monday. Teen boy killed in shooting in Bayview

A teenage boy was killed and another teen and adult were injured in a shooting Friday night in the Bayview district, police Sgt. Daryl Fong said Monday. The victim was identified by the Medical Examiner’s Office as Jaquan Morton, 17, of San Francisco. Morton was with two other people in the 1200 block of Griffith Street near Palou Avenue about 8:46 p.m. when all three were fired upon by unknown gunmen, Fong said. Arsonist lights up Diamond Heights building twice

Two random late-night fires at a Diamond Heights apartment building appear to be the work of an arsonist. On Monday, recycling bins in the Diamond Heights Boulevard building’s garage were set ablaze about 11:20 p.m., police said. The San Francisco Examiner reported on the small fire Tuesday.
