This firebug appeared to have cash to burn, but it wasn’t his money. Luis A. Hernandez of San Francisco was arrested Saturday on suspicion of breaking into a family’s house in the 1600 block of Dolores Street and starting a fire. Hernandez, who might have been drunk, reportedly entered through a rear patio door about 5:15 a.m. while the family was sleeping upstairs, police Officer Albie Esparza said. Alleged carjacker takes cabbie on wild ride in Mission

This fare was a real pain in the neck.A taxi driver was assaulted and had his cab stolen in the Mission district early Tuesday morning, police said. The 58-year-old victim reportedly picked up three people at 18th and Valencia streets about 1 a.m. During the course of the ride, an argument ensued between the passengers, police said. One of the passengers, a 48-year-old man, began yelling at the cabdriver before choking him from the back seat, police said. Read More

Tail light violation leads to litany of charges for Bayview teen

A broken tail light led to a young man being booked on three different charges last week in the Bayview. The 19-year-old was arrested at Van Dyke Avenue and Ingalls Street about 8 p.m. Thursday after officers pulled over the car he was in for the tail light violation, police said. When the teenager went into his backpack for his ID, he pulled out a bottle of rum, police said. A records check found he also had an outstanding warrant. And he was carrying two joints. San Mateo County cops arrest 43 at start of Memorial Day weekend

Drive sober or get pulled over. That’s the message San Mateo County police delivered to 43 people arrested on suspicion of drunken driving during the first 48 hours of Memorial Day weekend. As part of the “Avoid the 23” traffic enforcement effort, 17 county law enforcement agencies arrested 43 people for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, police said. Man arrested for pleasuring himself at public library

Yet another inappropriate public display of self-affection. A man was arrested in the Lakeside neighborhood last week for allegedly pleasuring himself while using a computer at the public library.Police were called to the library about 2:25 p.m. Monday in the 100 block of Winston Drive. San Francisco police arrest man in bank robbery spree

San Francisco cops arrested a man Thursday on suspicion of a bank robbery spree committed earlier that day, police said Friday. David Conrado, 48, of San Francisco, allegedly robbed two banks at the Laurel Village Shopping Center about 2 p.m., police said. A bank was robbed in the 3500 block of California Street and minutes later another bank in the 3400 block was hit.   In both robberies, the suspect walked into the banks in disguise, armed with a handgun, police said. Teen girl evades creep's clutches

A man in an orange minivan tried to abduct a teenage girl in the Bayview on Tuesday, police said. The teenager was waiting for a bus at Palou Avenue and Newhall Street about 8 a.m. when the van pulled up, police said. The driver opened the passenger door and told the teen in Spanish to hop in for a ride, but she refused. He then asked for her phone number, police said, which she refused to reveal. 18-year-old shot in arm in Bayview

A man was shot in the Bayview on Wednesday night, police said. The 18-year-old victim was reportedly shot in the shoulder about 9:15 p.m. in the Double Rock housing complex. Officers from a substation in the complex heard the shots and found the victim with gunshot wounds to his shoulder and arm, police said. He was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, but his injuries are not life-threatening. Carjacking suspects arrested in Oakland after fleeing S.F.

Leaving San Francisco city limits after stealing a car does not prevent the SFPD from chasing you. A woman and her passenger were carjacked in the Financial District early Thursday morning, police Officer Albie Esparza said, and cops had to cross the Bay in their pursuit of the suspects, who were arrested in Oakland. The vehicle was recovered. The 83-year-old victim and her male passenger, 50, were near Washington and Battery streets about 1:40 a.m. when two men approached their vehicle. A Pacific Heights bank was robbed Tuesday, police said. A man in his 20s entered the bank in the 2100 block of Fillmore Street about 10:40 a.m., police said, and handed the teller a note. A man was assaulted with a 2-by-4 in the Mission district early Wednesday morning, police said. The 51-year-old victim was sleeping in the 2100 block of Harrison Street about 1:20 a.m. when he was jolted awake after being struck with the board, police said. Woman held at gunpoint in Western Addition home-invasion robbery

A woman was held at gunpoint in a home invasion robbery in the Western Addition on Tuesday morning, police said. The 49-year-old victim answered her door about 9:10 a.m., police said, and three men pushed their way in. She lives in the unit block of Western Shore Lane. One of the crooks pulled out a gun and forced the victim to lie on the ground, police said. The other two suspects rummaged through the bedrooms. A man with a history of drunken violence might be up to his old ways again, the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office said, after he was arrested Tuesday in Half Moon Bay. Grady Powless, 54, was reportedly intoxicated and causing a disturbance inside the lobby of a business in the 200 block of South Cabrillo Highway about 1:30 p.m., police said. This incontinent creep is just like summer — no class. Cops are on the hunt for a window-breaking chump who took a leak on a Westwood Park house Sunday, Ingleside Police Station reported. A man who lives in the 100 block of Valdez Avenue told police he noticed a man outside his kitchen window urinating on his neighbor’s home about 7:30 p.m. He yelled to the suspect, “Have some class!” The creep responded by flipping off the neighbor and taunting him to come outside, police said, presumably to fight.   Read More

A man was cited for blasting his neighbors’ eardrums and a delivery boy was stiffed on the bill. 200 block of Flood Avenue, 11:40 a.m. Monday Cops cited a man for playing his music too loudly, police said. A neighbor called complaining about the noise. Police asked the rocker to turn it down, and he complied. When the officers left, the man turned his music back up and opened all his windows — take that, neighbors!
