Smoke from the Camp Fire in Butte County continued to hang over San Francisco and the Bay Area on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2018 as weather patterns keep the polluted air in the region.

The Bay Area Air Quality Management District has extended a Winter Spare the Air Alert through Tuesday. The San Francisco Department of Emergency Management said Thursday afternoon that the the district’s Air Quality index has increased to purple, which indicates the air is “very unhealthy,” and cautioned the public to remain indoors.
