Two men suffer life-threatening injuries in Mission Street stabbings

Two men were stabbed on the same block in the Mission District neighborhood this weekend and left with life-threatening injuries in two separate incidents, police said.

The first stabbing occurred around 3:20 p.m., when a 26-year-old man was chased into a building on the 2100 block of Mission Street, just over a block from the 16th and Mission street BART station, by three men in their early twenties.

The three men allegedly stabbed the 26-year-old and fled from the building in an unknown vehicle. The victim was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to police.

None of the three men suspected in the stabbing on Friday were arrested.

Two days later, a 57-year-old man was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries at 6:13 a.m. after nine men surrounded and stabbed him on the same block as the Friday afternoon stabbing.

The men also used an unknown blunt weapon to assault the man, police said.

The man who was stabbed at the 2100 block of Mission Street Sunday was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

None of the nine male suspected involved in the Sunday stabbing and assault have been arrested, according to police.
