This weekend marks the 11th Treasure Island Music Festival — but it’s not on Treasure Island.

The new site for the Saturday-Sunday concerts is Oakland’s Middle Harbor Shoreline Park, which features “expansive views of San Francisco Bay, downtown San Francisco and the Bay Bridge,” according to festival producers Noise Pop and Another Planet Entertainment.

More than 20 acts from across the world are in the lineup, with music on two stages (The City and The Town) in sets that don’t overlap. Emphasizing how TIMF was among the first major U.S. festivals to combine genres, promoters say this year’s lineup “endears itself” to the local scene, with hip-hop and dance music on Saturday and indie and rock on Sunday.

Promoters are touting up-and-coming acts (serpentwithfeet, Gilligan Moss, JPEGMAFIA), collaborations (Mark Ronson and Diplo in Silk City; Laff Trax with Toro y Moi and Nosaj Thing) and female-fronted groups (Santigold, Courtney Barnett, Sharon Van Etten, U.S. Girls).

It remains to be seen how logistics work, with no car or bike parking available on or near festival grounds. Patrons must be dropped off at pickup spots near the box office at Seventh Street and Middle Harbor Road; the festival entrance is off Seventh Street.
