The cat was seen in the area of 350 Jane Road at about 7:15 p.m.
Mountain lions do not tend to confront humans, but authorities recommend that residents avoid hiking or jogging at dawn, dusk and at night, when the animals are most active.

A plane landed safely on Interstate Highway 280 on Sunday evening, but a car was damaged after it was clipped by the descending Cessna, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

A mountain lion was spotted lying on the front lawn of a home in Woodside on Tuesday night, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.At approximately 9:45 p.m., the sheriff’s office received a call from a resident in the 100 block of Otis Street who was reporting that a 150- to 200-pound cougar was lying on his front lawn, police said.Deputies arrived and saw the mountain lion lounging on the hillside near the home, according to police.
