Suspect No. 2 pleads not guilty to murder One of two men accused in a fatal gang-related shooting in the Western Addition last month pleaded not guilty to murder charges Monday. Kenneth Chappell, 33, and Curtis Cail, 20, were arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of 54-year-old James Earl Lee on May 11 near Turk and Laguna streets, police said. Crime Blotter: Armed man shoots man in the arm

A man was shot in the arm in the Western Addition on Wednesday, police said. The 23-year-old victim was walking in the 800 block of McAllister Street about 9:15 p.m. when he heard gunshots, police said. He then realized he’d been shot in the arm. A family member drove him to the hospital for treatment of his injury, which was not life-threatening, police said. There were no known suspects as of Thursday.   Read More
