Vigilante’s efforts help lead to Noe Valley theft suspect’s arrest

A suspected burglar who was arrested in Noe Valley on Tuesday after a vigilante peppered him with bear spray pleaded not guilty Thursday. Andy Anduha, 51, of San Francisco, is charged with one count of first-degree burglary following the alleged theft of a package from a home on 22nd Street. Complaint names accomplices in S.F. pimp killing case

The couple accused of killing their daughter’s pimp in the Bayview district last month had help from a family member and another man, prosecutors announced. Antonio Gilton, 26, who’s related to shooting suspect Barry Gilton, though it’s unclear in what way, was arrested Wednesday along with Alfonso Williams, 35, in connection with the June 4 slaying of Calvin Sneed, 22, of Compton, who believed to have been a gang member. Bay Area film promoters mix message with guerrilla advertising about graffiti abatement

A documentary about people who spend their free time painting over graffiti is being promoted with — you guessed it — graffiti. Department of Public Works graffiti-abatement squads have been cleaning up dozens of wheat-pasted posters and stickers plastered around the Mission district in recent weeks promoting “Vigilante, Vigilante: The Battle for Expression.” The film, made by Bay Area graffiti proponents, opened Friday.
