San Francisco police come through for girl recovering from cancer who lost Christmas gifts

After 10-year-old Kiona Anderson won a two-year battle with leukemia in November, her mother, Amy Anderson, purchased gifts from Walmart.com to honor her “cure date.” But when the packages were delivered, a burglar was apparently lying

Woman says personal trainer hacked her Facebook

The relationship with her fitness instructor isn’t working out. A woman recently reported to police that an instructor at her fitness club has repeatedly hacked into her Facebook account and sent harassing messages about her, Taraval station police said. Police received the stalking report Nov. 7. The woman claims after she closed her Facebook account and created a new page, her instructor hacked that one, as well. Police to hold vigil on anniversary of Taraval officer’s slaying

San Francisco police will remember police Officer Bryan Tuvera, who was killed while pursuing an escaped felon in 2006, at a vigil Wednesday night at the Taraval police station.On the night of Dec. 22, 2006, Tuvera, 28, tried to take 33-year-old Marlon Ruff into custody in the Sunset district. Ruff had escaped from a Northern California state correctional work camp the year before. Read More
