Speed limits on some SoMa streets dropping to 25 mph

Multiple lanes, one-way directions and access to heavily used commuter freeways can turn the streets of South of Market from residential roads to miniature interstates. But a speed limit reduction could curb that soon. Officials have imposed a 5 mph cut — from 30 to 25 mph — on parts of Howard, Folsom, Harrison and Bryant streets.
