A man was beaten into unconsciousness with a handgun after leaving a check cashing business in the Tenderloin on Tuesday night, police said.The 45-year-old victim was reportedly counting his cash while walking near Turk and Jones streets when two goons attacked him at about 7 p.m.One of the suspects grabbed him and held him while the other hit him with a gun until he was unconscious, police said. They then stole his cash and fled.

A man beat and threatened a woman with a handgun before cutting her hands and face in the Laurel Heights area Thursday, cops said. The 46-year-old man and 23-year-old woman were apparently using drugs together in 2500 block of Sutter Street around 4 a.m., police said. The man struck the woman with the butt of a handgun, placed the gun in her mouth, and then cut the woman in her face and hands with a knife, cops said.

A 57-year-old man was slashed in the face in the Mid-Market district Monday after confronting a vandal who was defacing a mural, police said. The vandal, described as a woman in her late 30s, was using a knife to deface the mural in the 1100 block of Market Street, police said. The woman fled after slashing the victim, police said. Police were called to the scene just after 5 p.m.

Two victims of a baseball bat beating and robbery took a cab to St. Francis Hospital Saturday morning, police said.The victims, men ages 23 and 24, got into an argument with two thugs in the area of Fillmore and O’Farrell streets around 2:30 a.m. Saturday.The thugs beat them with a baseball bat before fleeing with a wallet, cash, credits cards and a cell phone, police said.The victims’ injuries were not life threatening. There has been no arrest.
