Dad who put son in oven sentenced to one year in jail

The twisted Daly City dad who put his 17-month-old son in the kitchen oven in order to teach him a lesson was sentenced to a year in jail and five years probation. Prosecutors fumed about the sentence, which was handed down Friday, saying they’d requested six years in state prison for 21-year-old Gregory Colver Jr. District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe says Colver continues to deny that he caused second- and third-degree burns on his child’s legs. He’s out of the dog house. A South San Francisco man was arrested Friday after forcibly stealing a woman’s dog. But prosecutors said Thursday that 47-year-old Genesis Sicat will not face charges because the pooch, a Chihuahua and Pomeranian mix, belonged to him at one point.
