Two small earthquakes were reported in the Bay Area on Sunday evening. A 3.5 magnitude quake centered 3 miles north-northeast of San Leandro occurred around 8:08 p.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. Man stabbed in restaurant after fight over vacant table in San Leandro

A San Francisco man was arrested in San Leandro on Friday after allegedly stabbing another man in a restaurant after arguing with the victim over a vacant table.Police arrested Nicholas Cordero, 24, shortly after the incident as he was leaving the restaurant. The stabbing happened at Chevys at 15555 E. 14th St., in Bayfair Center.Police caught up with Cordero by the Century Theaters. He was allegedly identified by witnesses as the suspect. Read More

San Leandro man, 19, killed in Tuesday shooting in Oakland

A 19-year-old San Leandro man was killed in a shooting in East Oakland on Tuesday evening, police said today. The shooting was reported at 5:45 p.m. in the 8200 block of A Street.When officers arrived, they found the victim in a car suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, police said. He was taken to Highland Hospital, where he died. Police are withholding the victim’s name until his family has been notified of his death. Read More

Police ID one victim of East Bay Dragons Motorcycle Club triple shooting

Police say a woman who was fatally shot Sunday night in Oakland was a 28-year-old Union City resident and a man who also died was a 29-year-old resident of San Leandro. They were killed in a shooting near the East Bay Dragons Motorcycle Club. The woman was identified as Latoya Jameika Kenny, Officer Holly Joshi said this morning. The man’s name hasn’t been released. San Leandro woman arrested for allegedly murdering her 8-year-old daughter

A San Leandro woman has been arrested for allegedly murdering her 8-year-old daughter in what appears to have been a botched murder-suicide, according to police. At about 1 p.m. Friday, police responded to the 1300 block of Leonard Drive after being contacted by a woman who was a care provider for the little girl.
