Crafty crooks posing as construction workers locked a 56-year-old Glen Park woman out of her own home Tuesday during a coordinated burglary, according to police.
About 10:50 a.m., the woman reportedly called police saying a man toting a handheld radio had knocked on her door in the 100 block of Charles Street, a residential area just west of San Jose Avenue.
“He looked like a construction worker,” police Officer Gordon Shyy said.

Cops found a car stopped in mid-traffic, and its driver asleep behind the wheel, during a drunken driving bust on San Jose Avenue on Saturday, police said.The officers were patrolling the area of San Jose Avenue and Dolores Street when they spotted the vehicle blocking traffic around 7:25 p.m. The cops found the driver “slumped over in his seat, asleep,” Ingleside Station police said.The driver failed field sobriety tests and was booked for DUI, police said.
