Yvonne Barillas, S.F. woman, stabbed to death

San Francisco police are investigating a homicide after finding a woman stabbed to death inside her home near 16th and Mission streets. Officers responded to the home in the 2000 block of Mission Street on Friday on a report of a body. The Medical Examiner later found that the 59-year-old Yvonne Barillas had been stabbed. The San Francisco medical examiner has identified the victim of Wednesday’s Sunnydale killing as 23-year-old Bobby Jones.The San Francisco man was found with a gunshot wound in his head outside a home in the 100 block of Brookdale Avenue around 6 p.m.  ShotSpotter technology alerted authorities to the shooting, police said. Woman tells San Francisco police man she fatally stabbed was intruder

A Hunters Point woman told cops she stabbed an intruder to death in her home early Sunday. Bayview cops found the alleged intruder, identified as 40-year-old Anthony Payne, lying outside the door of the woman's home in the 700 block of Kirkwood Avenue around 4:30 a.m. He had a stab wound to the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Bicyclist struck by truck in downtown San Francisco dies

The bicyclist who was struck by a food delivery truck in the Financial District on Wednesday has died. The San Francisco Medical Examiner identified the bicyclist Thursday as Nancy Ho, 25, of San Francisco.Ho was struck at Fremont and Mission streets just after 8 a.m. Read More

Burn-related death at care facility investigated

Bruce Smith was smoking outside the Burlingame Long-Term Care facility at 3:30 p.m. when he apparently dropped the cigarette onto his gown, which caught fire. Days later, the 67-year-old died at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in San Francisco from the burns he suffered. The fatal fire is now under investigation by state and local health authorities.
