Facebook allegedly removed famed author Salman Rushdie’s page last week because they suspected he might be an imposter. Rushdie sent his passport image, but then Facebook demanded that he post his name as Ahmed to rejoin. (Salman is officially his middle name.) When the page was reactivated under Ahmed Rushdie, he bombarded Facebook with irate tweets to his 100,000 Twitter followers.

Jon Stewart raised a lot of eyebrows over the weekend when the “Rally to Restore Sanity” showcased Yusef Islam, a.k.a. Cat Stevens. Islam has over the years said a lot of radical things including a number of comments where he essentially endorsed the infamous fatwa against Booker-Prize-Winning novelist Salman Rushdie. Islam has since tried to backpedal, but it’s hard to disguise his radicalism.
