San Francisco police towed several cars safely away from potentially hazardous trees across the street from UC San Francisco property, on the south side of Clarendon Avenue near Christopher Street, earlier this month.
The property was under the jurisdiction of the Recreation and Parks Department, but UCSF spokeswoman Barbara Bagot-Lopez said the university tries to keep watch of all dangerous situations. Read More
Youth soccer stars won’t be able to holler “Goooaaal!” this spring at Golden Gate Park’s Polo Fields due to a two-month delay in renovating the pitch.But The City’s Recreation and Parks department says “all youth soccer games will be protected” and moved elsewhere while the Polo Fields is fitted with a new irrigation system, sod, and improved drainage. Steps will also be taken to kick the gophers that dig holes in the field out of bounds. Read More

Seven parks are getting the first-ever payouts worth more than $650,000 from of a $5 million fund to fix open spaces.
Anyone was eligible to apply for up to $250,000 worth of fixes to any open space owned by the Recreation and Park Department out of the Community Opportunity Fund that came straight from the pockets of a 2008 parks bond. Read More
