A large sinkhole that appeared Monday in the Presidio Heights neighborhood will likely take the rest of the week to repair, a spokesman for the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission said Tuesday.
The sinkhole, which is about 20 feet in diameter and 10 feet deep, was reported about 5 p.m. Monday at Lake Street and Second Avenue, SFPUC spokesman Tyrone Jue said.

A power outage struck the Richmond District, Laurel Heights and Presidio Heights neighborhoods in San Francisco tonight, affecting more than 3,600 customers, according to PG&E.
The outage, which took place around 9:27 p.m., affected 3,660 customers north of Geary between Lyon Street and 24th Avenue, PG&E spokesman J.D. Guidi said.
Power was restored to most customers before 10:30 p.m., Guidi said.

Police probed a bomb threat at the San Francisco Jewish Community Center Tuesday.
A person phoned in the threat in the 3200 block of California Street around 8:30 a.m., prompting JCC security to call police. The threat was found to be false after an extensive search that included police bomb sniffing dogs turned up no explosive, police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said.
People were allowed to return to the building just after 10:30 a.m.

An unlocked car in Presidio Heights was fun times for a crook, who scored a GPS, $50 in cash, two gift cards and $300 in charges on an ATM card, police said.The robbery occurred overnight sometime between 3 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. Wednesday, the car owner told police. A San Francisco couple caught strangers on tape ruining the seasonal spirit by ripping their urban pumpkin patch to shreds earlier this month.
The couple found bright-orange pieces of several pumpkins they purchased in Half Moon Bay earlier in the season scattered all over the street.
