On the heels of more than 100 protesters being arrested inside a Bank of America branch, the encampment at Federal Reserve must remove tents by Thursday evening, according to the Department of Public Works.
Mohammed Nuru, head of the Department of Public Works, said Wednesday that he’d met with campers in front of the Federal Reserve building, at 101 Market Street, and asked them to move their tents. Protesters can remain there during the day, but they cannot have tents. Read More

Several hundred Occupy SF protesters are marching through downtown San Francisco on Wednesday afternoon to protest cuts to public education.

The march, however, became disruptive after protesters stormed a Bank of America branch and refused to leave, leading to the arrest of demonstrators. Read More
Although the University of California regents canceled a meeting scheduled to begin in Mission Bay this morning, thousands of students did not cancel their plans to protest. Read More
The Occupy SF encampment at Justin Herman Plaza along San Francisco’s Embarcadero did not see any police action this morning although an ancillary camp down the block on Market Street was dismantled and some occupants may have been arrested, according to a footage from a livestream video of the protest camp this morning. The third major fight at the Occupy SF encampment was supposed to be the last of it Monday night after about 100 protesters banished “Jimmy the Instigator.”
Most protesters believed he was responsible for about half the brawls that broke out there in recent days. Once he was gone, tensions eased, and a heartwarming singalong forecast a peaceful night.

The Police Department isn’t the only city agency enduring hefty costs related to the Occupy SF movement.Animal experts have been dropping by the Justin Herman Plaza camp weekly to check on the conditions and health of dogs living there, and those efforts are adding to The City’s already-pricey tab to watch over the movement. Mayor Ed Lee took a tour of the Occupy SF encampment in Justin Herman Plaza on Tuesday morning, flanked by San Francisco police.
Lee told The San Francisco Examiner that he will meet with the Occupy SF protesters Wednesday. He said he hopes protesters will agree to move out of the plaza and relocate to a private property.
The City's homeless czar Dariush Kayhan walked the mayor through the camp.
