Two games in one.
Brandon Moss hit his second home run of the night with two outs in the bottom of the 19th inning to give the Oakland Athletics a 10-8 victory over the Los Angeles Angels early Tuesday in the longest major league game of the season.
The teams were on the field for 6 hours, 32 minutes in a marathon game that ended at 1:41 a.m. on the West Coast. It was the longest game ever played in Oakland by time and the longest in Angels history as well.

OAKLAND — His face full of dirt and his body atop the third base bag, Eric Sogard was more concerned with being safe than watching the throw from Baltimore's Manny Machado sail into left field.
For a few moments, it even looked as if Sogard would stay put on the ground.
Sogard eventually got to his feet and scrambled home, making a headfirst dive with the winning run in the 10th inning that lifted the Oakland Athletics over the Orioles 9-8 Sunday.

BOSTON — Aside from the terrible weather, things really couldn’t have gone any better for the A’s on Tuesday.
The A’s ended a four-game losing streak with 13 runs, 13 hits and seven brilliant innings by a seemingly ageless Bartolo Colon in cruising to a 13-0 win over the Boston Red Sox. The game was called after seven innings following an entire night of rain and wind.

At least one team in the American League West won’t be complaining about making three trips to Houston this season.
The A’s run to the top of the division, and their league-best overall record, is thanks in part to Oakland’s success against the Astros — six of the A’s 12 wins have come against Houston, and Oakland has outscored the Astros 45-19.
