A Marin County man is recovering at home after being attacked by a mountain lion in the Sierra Nevada foothills early Sunday morning.
The 63-year-old man, who does not want to be identified for now, was in a sleeping bag on a sandbar along a tributary of the Yuba River near Nevada City when he was attacked around 1 a.m. Sunday, California Department of Fish and Game spokesman Patrick Foy said.

Residents will be celebrating all things bicycle-related in downtown Livermore on Tuesday to kick off stage four of the Amgen Tour of California.The bike tour started in Nevada City on Monday and is scheduled to end in Thousand Oaks on May 22.Stage four of the tour is set to start in Livermore at 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday. The athletes will bike 81 miles to San Jose, covering three grueling climbs along the way, according to the tour’s website.
