A disabled woman suffered life-threatening injuries in a house fire in San Francisco’s Mission Terrace neighborhood on Wednesday night, a fire department spokeswoman said today.The two-alarm fire was reported at 8:29 p.m. at a two-story home at 160 Santa Rosa Ave., fire spokeswoman Mindy Talmadge said.Firefighters arrived and found flames and smoke coming from the garage and front door of the home, and were told there was a disabled woman upstairs, Talmadge said. Two window washers escaped disaster Thursday morning after their scaffolding gave way, leaving them dangling at the top of a 16-story Mission Bay condominium complex for about 25 minutes before they were rescued. The drama unfolded at the Arterra building at 300 Berry St., leaving the two men who had been pressure-washing the outside of the building hanging by their safety harnesses as the scaffolding slunk down vertically between the 16th and 14th floors. Updated on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at 10 p.m. - A man who apparently suffered some sort of medical emergency at the Powell Street Station Tuesday afternoon fell down and caught his hair and jacket in the escalator. Police said he later died due to  unknown causes.Horrified witnesses called for help around 1 p.m. after the man got caught in the escalator at the northwestern end of the station.
