The quieter corners of City Hall looked more like the backstage area of a Broadway show Sunday as thousands were waiting to see the inauguration of Ed Lee, the first elected Asian-American mayor in San Francisco history.
The party atmosphere of music, dance and other fanfare continued well after the 11 a.m. event, in which U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein — the only woman ever to serve as mayor of The City — administered Lee’s oath of office.

Fortune 40 Under 40: On Thursday at Zynga headquarters in The City, some 250 leaders, including many in the tech industry, turned out to acknowledge Fortune’s most influential people under 40 in business. Attendees included Mayor Ed Lee, Mark Pincus of Zynga, Tim Westergren of Pandora and Andrew Serwer of Fortune.

Oh, to be a fly on the wall at the latest meeting of San Francisco city leaders and the tech companies that have been pushing them for tax breaks. The latest meeting on Monday involved Mayor Ed Lee, Supervisors David Chiu, Ross Mirkarimi and Mark Farrell, and a handful of tech CEOs who all expressed their displeasure at being headquartered in a city that not only taxes payrolls but also levies stock options as well.
