A proposal to expand parking meter enforcement to Sundays has drawn the ire of local churches and other places of worship.The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency is exploring options to make up its two-year projected budget deficit of $53.2 million. Transit activist and Muni rider, Joel Ramos had his appointment by Mayor Ed Lee to the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency Board of Directors confirmed Tuesday by the Board of Supervisors in a 10-0 vote.
Ramos, who lives in the Sunset district, is a community planner with TransForm, a regional transit advocacy organization. He also serves on the Geary Boulevard Bus Rapid Transit Community Advisory Committee.
Joel Ramos, a transit activist and regular Muni customer, has been tapped for the open position on the Municipal Transportation Agency’s seven-person Board of Directors.
The MTA board, which governs Muni, has been shorthanded one person since the death of Cameron Beach on March 18. Read More
