The mother of a 16-year-old who died on a Bayview sidewalk last weekend has been released from custody pending further investigation, authorities said Tuesday. Police officers noticed the girl, identified as Jaynice Johnson, on the ground about 12:45 p.m. near the intersection of Quesada Avenue and Jennings Street.
