Youth soccer stars won’t be able to holler “Goooaaal!” this spring at Golden Gate Park’s Polo Fields due to a two-month delay in renovating the pitch.But The City’s Recreation and Parks department says “all youth soccer games will be protected” and moved elsewhere while the Polo Fields is fitted with a new irrigation system, sod, and improved drainage. Steps will also be taken to kick the gophers that dig holes in the field out of bounds.
