Sunnydale gun violence claims another life

Police have increased patrols in the Sunnydale housing projects after a string of horrific gun violence since mid-May that has left three 21-year-olds and one 22-year-old dead. The latest victim, who has not been identified, was fatally shot about 7:20 p.m. Sunday while standing in front of his home in the 1700 block of Sunnydale Avenue, police Officer Albie Esparza said. Advocates for the homeless say they are troubled by an inordinate number of vacancies at public housing complexes even as officials pledged Monday to move 51 homeless families into apartments as quickly as possible. Man grazed by bullet outside housing projects

A 21-year-old man was grazed by a bullet Monday evening near the public housing projects of the Mission district. The victim, a black male and a resident of Sacramento, was standing in a group in front of the housing projects at Valencia Street and Rosa Parks Lane when a suspect approached them and fired on them, according to San Francisco Police Lt.
