A truck carrying oxygen tanks struck a wall on the eastbound San Mateo-Hayward Bridge and exploded this morning, according to the California Highway Patrol. The 26-foot flatbed truck, which was carrying a load of plastic chairs and oxygen tanks, struck a wall midspan and burst into flames at about 10:15 a.m., CHP Sgt. John Carman said.
