A Sig-alert has been issued this morning after a big-rig and its contents overturned onto westbound state Highway 92 in San Mateo, near a connector ramp to U.S. Highway 101, a California Highway Patrol officer said.The truck overturned around 5:30 a.m. and dumped debris onto the freeway, blocking all westbound Highway 92 lanes and two lanes of southbound Highway 101. A truck carrying oxygen tanks struck a wall on the eastbound San Mateo-Hayward Bridge and exploded this morning, according to the California Highway Patrol. The 26-foot flatbed truck, which was carrying a load of plastic chairs and oxygen tanks, struck a wall midspan and burst into flames at about 10:15 a.m., CHP Sgt. John Carman said. The fire was put out by 10:39 a.m., but the cabin of the truck was destroyed, Carman said. Read More

Caltrans is planning to start work this summer on replacing the 78-foot section of wall, located on the westbound side of Highway 92 near Mariners Island Boulevard, after the California Transportation Commission allocated $153,000 to the project last month. Redwood City man killed in big rig accident on Highway 92

A 68-year-old Redwood City man was killed Wednesday afternoon after his vehicle crossed a highway line and crashed in to a big rig in San Mateo County.
