A 77-year-old man who was heartlessly hurled to the ground at Market and Post streets last month has died from his injuries, police said Monday.
The attack that killed San Francisco resident Dallas Ayers occurred about 11 a.m. Jan. 28, police Officer Albie Esparza said.
The suspect fled and remains at large.
Police describe the suspect as a white man in his late 40s standing 5-foot-8 and wearing a brown hoodie and brown pants.

Perhaps the crook had bad penmanship. A man quit an apparent attempt to rob a bank in downtown San Francisco on Tuesday after the teller was befuddled by his note, police said. The would-be bank bandit entered the bank in the unit block of Front Street around 10 a.m. and presented his note to the teller, police said. When she asked what the note was, the bummed bandit simply took it back and walked out. There has been no arrest.

A 16-year-old San Francisco boy was shot on the sidewalk in the South of Market neighborhood late Saturday, San Francisco police said Sunday.
The shooting took place at about 10 p.m. on Heron Street near Eighth Street, according to SFPD spokesman Sgt. Mike Andraychak.
The boy was hospitalized and is expected to survive, Andraychak said.
A 20-year-old man was arrested and a gun was recovered, Andraychak said.
