Cellphone thieves hold up and knock down woman

A woman was assaulted during a cellphone robbery in the Ingleside district Tuesday, police said. The 23-year-old was near Harold and Bruce avenues about 10:15 p.m. when two young hoodlums snuck up behind her and grabbed the phone from her hands. She struggled with the pair, but was overpowered and knocked to the ground. The two suspects reportedly fled in a gray SUV south on Harold Avenue. Read More

Burglars hit house, grab Labrador too

Redwood City police said they are investigating a burglary and dognapping that happened sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. Monday at a house in the 200 block of West Oakwood Boulevard. The crooks stole electronics, jewelry and 11-month-old chocolate Labrador named Gus. Anyone with information on Gus’ whereabouts can call Detective Josh Chilton at (650) 780-7141.
