As a Peninsula assemblyman takes a fight over San Francisco’s local-hiring ordinance to Sacramento, a San Mateo County leader said she wants to negotiate changes to the law. Rain dampens spirits during Streets Alive

The goal was to promote healthier lifestyles by using parks and streets as recreation areas when free of cars, but rain thwarted San Mateo County’s participation in a nationwide event.
