Worker dies after falling at San Francisco construction site

A construction worker died after falling more than a dozen feet at a house under construction near San Francisco’s Laguna Honda Hospital on Wednesday morning, a Fire Department spokeswoman said. The fall was reported at 10:37 a.m. at 40 Edgehill Way, where a three-story home is being built. The driver of a semi truck accidentally struck and killed a laborer in the parking lot of the Fry's Electronics store in Palo Alto on Tuesday evening, a California Division of Occupational Safety and Health spokeswoman said Wednesday.A 64-year-old man working for Oakley-based G&S Paving was struck and killed as the truck was backing up in the parking lot of the store at 340 Portage Ave., Cal/OSHA spokeswoman Patricia Ortiz said.
