An early October storm hit the Bay Area on Tuesday night, making roads hard to handle, a California Highway Patrol officer said.According to CHP Officer Ralph Caggiano overnight rain led to flooding in Oakland, San Jose, Marin, parts of state Highway 17 near Santa Cruz and San Francisco.Caggiano said Caltrans has been busy clearing drains to relieve flooding and the CHP has been handling many collisions overnight. Man found dead in car at Redwood City Park & Ride lot

A 51-year-old man was found dead in his car at a Park & Ride lot off of Interstate Highway 280 near Redwood City early this morning, a San Mateo County deputy coroner said. No other cars were involved nor were there reports of a crash when California Highway Patrol authorities went to check on a disabled vehicle on the side of northbound I-280 at Edgewood Road just after midnight. A connector ramp from westbound state Highway 92 to southbound U.S. Highway 101 in San Mateo reopened late this morning after big-rig crash forced a six-hour closure, a California Highway Patrol officer said.The truck overturned at about 5:30 a.m. and spilled a load of scrap metal and two recycled vehicles onto the connector ramp and the two right lanes of Highway 101, CHP Officer Art Montiel said. Overturned big-rig in San Mateo closes ramp from Highway 92 to Highway 101

A Sig-alert has been issued this morning after a big-rig and its contents overturned onto westbound state Highway 92 in San Mateo, near a connector ramp to U.S. Highway 101, a California Highway Patrol officer said.The truck overturned around 5:30 a.m. and dumped debris onto the freeway, blocking all westbound Highway 92 lanes and two lanes of southbound Highway 101.
