Fake threats are not the bomb. A teenager accused of sending a bomb threat to Burlingame High School using a fellow student’s email account last month is scheduled to be arraigned on a misdemeanor charge Tuesday.
Christine Azzolino, 18, was charged in connection with the Feb. 10 incident that forced a lockdown and evacuation at the school and had four bomb-detecting canine units scouring the campus for explosives, according to prosecutors.

The Peninsula Athletic League will be highlighted at the Central Coast Section Track and Field Finals on Friday at Gilroy High School by Westmoor’s Andria Donley and Burlingame’s Allison Daley.
Daley, who went to the state championships last year, was the top qualifier in CCS for the 300-meter hurdles after winning at the PAL Championships.
“Anybody who gets race experience really helps,” Burlingame coach Megan Fish said. “She’s used to big competition.”

The Peninsula Athletic League Bay Division will be well-represented in the Central Coast Section Division II baseball playoffs as El Camino, Burlingame and Hillsdale all make return visits when games begin today.
After moving up to the Bay this season, El Camino (15-10-1) won the league only to be seeded exactly the same as it was last year against Los Gatos, the same team which defeated the Colts in the first round of 2010.

A senior at Burlingame High School told police that he was playing a prank when he allegedly posted a threat online targeting a rally at his school, police said.
Authorities have not said what the 17-year-old boy wrote in the online post. But the post was alarming enough that the FBI and San Mateo Police Department teamed to arrest the boy at his school Monday morning.

A Burlingame High School senior was arrested Monday on suspicion of making terrorist threats, San Mateo police said.The FBI contacted the San Mateo Police Department at about 7 a.m. Monday regarding an online posting that threatened a school rally on a campus in Northern California, police said.Someone from out of state had seen the posting and reported it to authorities, police said. The FBI determined that the person who created the post lived in San Mateo.
